Plan Commission Favors CUP Applications, PIP Amendment
The Village of Fontana Plan Commission approved motions at its monthly meeting held Monday, April 30, 2012 to recommend Village Board approval of three Conditional Use Permit applications and an amendment to the Clear Sky Lodge Planned Development Precise Implementation Plan. Workshop Meeting Held January 30, 2012 for Rewrite Project
Further changes were directed by the Village of Fontana Plan Commission and Board of Trustees at a joint workshop meeting on Monday, January 30, 2012 for the Municipal Code Chapters 17 and 18 rewrite project. Minutes
The additional changes to the preliminary drafts will further delay the scheduling of the required public hearing before final adoption of the rewritten chapters and new Zoning Map are considered.

Plan Commission Favors Abbey Proposal, Doesn't Support Sign Proposal
The Village of Fontana Plan Commission approved a motion at its monthly meeting held Monday, January 9, 2012 to recommend Village Board approval of a proposal submitted by the Abbey Resort to erect its outdoor event tent three weeks earlier than the previously approved time frame, but did not approve a motion to recommend approval of a proposed 90-square-foot exterior sign for Fontana Family Chiropractic, 450 Mill Street, Suite 102. The Plan Commission also tabled a Conditional Use Permit application at the applicant's request, and approved the final drafts of the rewritten Chapters 17 and 18 of the Municipal Code and new Zoning Map.
Although the Plan Commission voted to schedule a public hearing for the Chapters 17 and 18 rewrite project and new Zoning Map, the Village Board postponed the public hearing later that night at its rescheduled monthly meeting held following the Plan Commission meeting. The Village Board motion adopted just prior to adjournment directed staff to schedule a special meeting with the attorney representing the Geneva Lake Conservancy.

Plan Commission Favors Walsh CUP Application
The Village of Fontana Plan Commission approved a motion at its monthly meeting held Tuesday, November 1, 2011 to recommend Village Board approval of the Conditional Use Permit application filed by Mark Walsh, 1064 S. Lakeshore Drive.
The Plan Commission also approved a motion to schedule a special joint workshop session with the Board of Trustees on Monday, November 14, 2011 beginning at 6:30 PM to discuss the first draft of the new Resort Business District zoning district to be included in the rewritten Chapter 18 of the Municipal Code. The Village of Fontana Plan Commission approved a motion at its monthly meeting held Monday, September 26, 2011 to schedule a public hearing for a Conditional Use Permit application filed by Mark Walsh, 1064 S. Lakeshore Drive. Minutes
The public hearing was scheduled for Tuesday, November 1, 2011 beginning at 5:30 pm. The monthly meeting date, which is typically the last Monday of the month, was rescheduled because of the Halloween holiday on Monday, October 31, 2011.

The Village of Fontana Plan Commission approved motions at its monthly meeting Monday, April 25, 2011 to recommend Village Board approval of a paver block patio at the Abbey Resort, additional signage and outdoor seating at the 441 Mill Street restaurants, an extension of the approval for an outdoor seasonal display at 102 W. Main Street, and an amendment to the previously approved Certified Survey Map filed by James and Carol Whowell for their Willow Bend Road property in Walworth Township.

Plan Commission Approves Moratorium
Following a joint public hearing on Monday, January 10, 2011, the Village of Fontana Plan Commission approved a Resolution to adopt a temporary moratorium or stay on the acceptance, review and approval of rezone, land division and subdivision applications and condominium plat applications on Village properties.
The moratorium only impacts applications for proposed rezoning, land division and subdivision of property, and condominium plat proposals. Building permits and occupancy permits can still be issued and property owners will be allowed to build and remodel provided their project meets all the applicable zoning requirements and building codes. The moratorium does not affect normal construction.
The moratorium will be lifted when Chapters 17 and 18 of the Municipal Code have been rewritten and adopted. Minutes
